Circular Newsletter
CIRCULAR is
a biannual newsletter published in English, Spanish and French which has
two objectives. First, to encourage researcher to meet together and intensify
research work and secondly to help inform all who conceive and implement
cultural policies.
CIRCULAR is published on behalf
of CIRCLE by the Department
of Studies and Future Trends, Ministry for Culture (France).

This includes the full content of Circular, as well as, additional articles,
references and more linguistic versions of the newsletter. The web site

CIRCULAR is divided into 7 main
sections, some of which you are welcome and encouraged to send contributions
to:
FOCUS
This section is a synthesis of documentation on a given theme related
to cultural policy published in various countries and edited by a specialist
on the subject. This article contains bibliographical references on the
subject. A CIRCLE member may propose a theme for analysis and carry out
the editing in which case it is expected that a text of not more than
8,500 characters (1,800 words) and completed by bibliographical references
should be submitted. A brief profile of the author should also be provided.
AGORA
This section is dedicated to topical issues, debates and conflicts about
culture. It may present the conclusions of a recent round table or the
opinion of an observer about a controversial issue. A text of not more
than 8,500 characters (1,800 words) may be submitted and completed by
a brief presentation of the author.
EUREKA
This section provides space for a presentation of the results (or some
salient results) from a recently completed research project. The article
should highlight the added value and relevance of the conclusions from
the research. A text of not more than 8,500 characters (1,800 words) may
be submitted, eventually backed by tables and/or graphs. The methodological
outline should not be more than 600 characters. A brief profile of the
author should also be provided.
PUBLICATIONS
This section provides a list of recently published or forthcoming books,
journals and articles, grouped under permanent headings. Books related
to cultural policy can be publicised in this section by sending the full
details of recent publications and/or the actual publication.
Reviews on any new publication relating to cultural policy will be welcomed
by RECAP.
WHO's WHO?
This is a presentation of organisations, researchers, heads of organisations,
policy makers, experts and contributing authors. CIRCLE members wishing
to submit information for this section should send full details of themselves
or their organisations highlighting the link to cultural policy research.
Descriptions should be clear and concise and be not more than 3,000 words
plus a logotype.
BABEL
This section deals with common identities and differences. It contains
elements for comparison covering language, methodology, statistics, and
concepts. Please send information or reactions on a subject worth debating
using not more than 3,500 characters. The text should include a clear
source of information and a precise definition of terms used.
CIRCLE
Is an update provided by the secretary-general of the network to provide
you with a general guideline to the networks activities.
Space is also reserved for CIRCLE members to send information and cartoons.
Please feel free to send absolutely anything for publication but remember
that the editors ruling is final!
