Whose Culture is it?

Transgenerational approaches to Culture

 17th - 18th December 2004, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain

CIRCLE held a round table meeting of expert's on the subject of trans-generational approaches to Culture.  The following day CIRCLE celebrated it's 20th anniversary and an annual general meeting of the members.

A set of questions were sent to CIRCLE members in over 35 countries in an attempt to collate expert opinions and statistics on the state of youth culture, in contrast to cultural practices of other generations. The survey results were made available to all  participants in the form of a conference reader prior to the meeting in December.

The conference reader is available in html format - Click here

CIRCLE had won a grant from the European Commission to hold this round table in Barcelona and were given additional support from the Council of Europe in order to support the event and help produce a follow-up publication.  Furthermore, the Diputació de Barcelona provided a venue for the meeting and Interarts Foundation helped organise the event.
