The relationship between the public and private sector in the field of culture was thoroughly debated during the 1997 Round Table. It was not the first time CIRCLE addressed this issue, but this time the scope of the conference was very broad, covering profit and non-profit sectors. The issue was analysed in discussions covering a broad sample of forms of privatisation carried out in the main cultural sub-sectors across Europe.
